Polis launches a certification intensive and virtual in Political Communication and Electoral Campaigns, designed to form strategists capable of leading electoral processes with a critical eye, technique and ethics. Started in may of 2025, and is aimed at professionals and leaders interested in transforming political communication in Ecuador.

On April 3, 2025, Polis Academy of Political Education announced the launch of its new Certification in Political Communication and Election Campaigns, an aggressive academic program that responds to the growing need for the professionalization of communication in the political sphere-election. With a duration of 20 hours of academic and mode completely virtual, this certification provides a comprehensive training that combines theory, practice, and strategic analysis, with emphasis on the context of ecuador. The course starts on may 14, 2025 and will be taught by the Mg. James Garcia, an expert in political communication and campaigns.

The certification is structured in three key modules:

  • Module 1: The electoral process and the social background and political campaign. Why did the people vote?
    This module defines the context of the sociological and political elections, addressing the origin of the public opinion, the main theories of electoral behavior and the role of campaigns in modern democracies. (Duration: 2 hours)
  • Module 2: Communication applied to the electoral campaigns (I). The communication strategy.
    We explore the fundamentals of political communication, the phases of an effective strategy, the construction of narrative, the guiding concept and contrast, as well as key tools to connect with the electorate. (Duration: 4 hours theory + 4 hours practical)
  • Module 3: Communication applied to the electoral campaigns (II). The execution of the campaigns.
    This module focuses on the level of organization of a campaign: from the design of the organizational structure and operation of the “war room”, to the tactical implementation of the communication strategies. (Duration: 4 hours theory + 4 hours practical)

Through this program, participants will develop key skills to design and execute effective campaigns, and ethical context, understanding the role of communication as a tool of democratic transformation. This initiative aligns with the mission of Polis to develop leaders capable of influencing the public sphere with responsibility, creativity, and technical precision, thus consolidating its commitment to a policy more transparent, inclusive and professional.
